Everything we believe, we learned from a weave.
Trama is the Italian word for the weft — the thread that crosses the warp and turns loose threads into fabric. Networking borrowed the same image: a fabric is exactly that, physical links and logical policies interwoven. We didn't pick the name because it sounds good. We picked it because a weave already contains everything we believe about networks.
Seven things a weave teaches about networks
Connection
A weave exists to hold things together. So do we: we connect systems, sites and — above all — the people who run them. A network is only finished when the whole team can work on it, not just the one expert.
The human hand
Behind every fabric there's someone who knows how it's made, thread by thread. We work the same way: no black boxes. We explain, document and hand over the knowledge — understanding is part of the delivery.
The physical thread
Every weave starts from a real thread. Every network starts from a cable, a fiber, a port. We never lose sight of the physical layer: it's where reliability is born — and where FiberFrame was born too.
Resilience
A fabric is strong because no single thread carries the load alone. We design networks the same way: redundant paths, no single point of failure, tested against the day something snaps.
Scalability
A loom adds one row after another without undoing the cloth. Good architectures grow the same way: new sites, new pods, new capacity — without weaving everything again from scratch.
Joining fabrics
Cloth can be sewn to other cloth. Networks too: what we build integrates with what already exists — legacy systems, networks already in production, other teams — instead of demanding a blank slate.
Made in Italy
Weaving is an Italian craft — the world's finest fabrics are manufactured here. We bring that same culture of manufacturing quality to network engineering and to the software we build: designed and made in Italy, delivered anywhere.
